It is found in the Sudanian savanna region in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo (extreme north only), Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, and Togo.
